  Krewe de Mutz Dog Walk
1–4 pm, Sunday, February 21
Meador Park, Seabrook

We have a great event coming up! Tell all your friends, family, co-workers, and acquaintances and ask them to sponsor your dog in the Mardi Gras Parade. Keep track of the amounts your sponsors are donating by using the attached form and bring it with you to the event. The more people who sponsor you and your dog, the more funds we will have to rescue more dogs and cats.

Dress your dogs up and you can have matching outfits if you choose. There will be contests with wonderful prizes for the best costume and also for other categories. Gift certificates will be awarded to the 3 walkers with the most pledge money and those with $100+ pledges will be entered into the GRAND PRIZE drawing. We will have food and games for the dogs. Mardi gras beads will be thrown after the parade. Come and have fun outside with your pooch and other animal lovers.

Registration is $15 if you have pledges from other people and $25 if you have no pledges.

The parade is approximately 1/2 mile. It will start and finish at the pavilion at Meador Park. Please pick up after your animals. Water will be available for your dogs at the end of the walk. Those with pledge forms with $25 or more will receive free T Shirts (while supplies last)

Dogs must be on a leash. Dogs who are not wearing current rabies tags, who are aggressive or in heat cannot participate.

Download the pledge form here.

KROGER NEIGHBOR-TO-NEIGHBOR PROGRAM

Kroger's Neighbor to Neighbor program is their way to make donations to non-profit organizations.

If you donated to Second Chance Pets through Krogers last year, YOU MUST "RELINK" YOUR KROGER'S CARD to donate to Second Chance Pets for 2009-2010. When you check out at the store, tell the cashier you want to relink. They should be able to take care of it for you quickly.

To participate in the program:

  • Open this pdf file (the customer letter).
Print the customer letter including the Second Chance Pets bar code.
Take the letter with you the next time you shop at Kroger.
When you check out, the cashier will scan the bar code from the customer letter.
Once this is done, every time you use your Kroger Plus Card, a donation will be made to Second Chance Pets.

Please make copies of the customer letter and give it to all your friends and family. By taking a few minutes to set this up, every time you shop at Kroger, the dogs and cats in Second Chance Pets will be helped through a Kroger donation.
