Hi, I’m Happy, an active Husky youngster (about 1 year old and 42 pounds) always ready to go and have some fun with my family. But I’m also a lap dog – boy do I love to snuggle and hang around with my family. I was found on the street and a nice family took me in but were not able to find my previous family, so here I am at SCP looking for a new forever home. I’m friendly, calm, and sociable and would probably do best with older children (elementary+) since I'm active and playful. I’ve been around other dogs and seemed to do fine with them. but I’m a active guy so I might be intimidating to a toy or miniature dog. I’ve met a couple of kitties and I laid down to nuzzle with a friendly kitten, but I am nervous around my foster's cat that hisses at me. I’m house and crate trained (sleep in a crate at night, and mostly free roam in home during the day). I walk pretty well on a leash, and am making great progress on my leash and obedience commands. My foster family is giving me lots of durable toys and chews to keep me challenged, and I’m loving it. I’m looking for a loving family who will provide an active lifestyle that we both can enjoy. If you're up for long walks, playing in the backyard or just being close to you, I’m your guy! How about teaching me all kinds of new games where I can be your star team member? Just remember Huskies are bred for cold climates, so you’ll need to watch that I don’t overheat on hot days, and keep me as an inside dog. I’m super smart and love adventure, especially with my family. I’m born to run, so I’ll need a home with a 6-8 foot fence where I can zoom around the yard. My foster says it’s a marvel to see me run!

Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 or $245 for puppies. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas.
