Right now our #1 need is for more volunteers willing to foster a cat or dog!

SCP does not have a shelter so our ability to rescue animals is limited by the availability of openings in foster homes. For more information click here or scroll down.

Feral Cat Day Spring 2017

Feral Cat Day 4-17

Second Chance Pets will be sponsoring another feral cat spay/neuter day at Animal Alliance in La Marque on Saturday April 29, 2017. Reservations for surgery appointments are required and are limited to cats who are either feral (wild) or free roaming/community (homeless and being fed by individuals but not owned by anyone). Volunteers are also needed to make this TNR event a success - both morning and afternoon shifts will be available at Animal Alliance that day. To request a surgery appointment, obtain more information or to volunteer your time on Feral Cat Day please contact Susan at Space is limited and reservations are required.
Donations in support of these efforts may be designated for the "SCP Feral Fund". Go to Donate page or click button below to donate via PayPal.
THANK YOU!!!      .

SCP is ALWAYS looking for new fosters but has an urgent need right now as our existing foster network is full!

Because we do not have a shelter, we cannot accept a new cat or dog into the program unless there is a foster available who will provide shelter, food, care and love until the animal is adopted (SCP pays the pet’s vet bills).

We need additional compassionate people who have room in their homes and hearts to care for a rescued cat or dog until we are able to find it a forever home. Fostering is easy and rewarding - providing temporary care for a pet awaiting adoption is a great family volunteer project with the satisfaction of knowing you are saving a life!
To learn more about fostering for SCP see our Foster Brochure. There is also a nice article on the SCP foster program in the March 2014 edition of Galveston Monthly Magazine – click here to read it. To volunteer as a foster or for more information, please email us.
