Goldfish is THE sweetest cat! He was impounded in a county shelter months ago and the shelter vet determined that he has stomatitis. This is an auto-immune disorder which causes inflammation of the gums. He also tested positive for FIV which was a double whammy. FIV kitties can live just fine with other cats without passing on the virus as long as they do not seriously bite or mate with another cat. Goldfish LOVES other cats and will even groom them after a very short introductory period. He is friendly as all get out and his favorite thing is to rub his cheeks against yours and give head-bops. He loves to be held and cuddled. He is very laid back and will follow you all around like a dog. He used to belong to someone as he had a collar on when impounded. He currently gets steroid shots every 3-4 weeks and we are trying to maintain his quality of life. He will need a very special adopter to watch over him to make sure he eats and is comfortable. Steroids are not real great for a kitty and can likely lead to other problems. We will help with medical costs for his comfort. It would be wonderful to find a forever home for the special guy. This would help many other kitties as he would open up a space in his foster home!
***Update - Goldfish had all of his teeth removed to decrease inflammation. We are hoping this helps him!
