Mixed Breed

Hi, I’m Flora, a medium sized (about 40 pounds) mixed breed sweetheart who’s had a really hard life but that’s not stopping me from being a sweet and loving companion with a huge personality. My foster says I’m perfect and a very special girl who’s making great progress to overcome all obstacles life has thrown my way. I was picked up as a stray and was taken to a high-volume shelter then made my way to SCP where I’ve started on my journey to finding my forever home. I’m presently being treated for a horrible skin condition as you can see in my photos and I’m undergoing heartworm treatment so my new family will need to be willing to continue taking me to one of SCP’s vets until I complete my treatments (SCP will pay for the treatments) and I’ll be good as new. I’m presently living with a house full of other dogs and having a ball playing with them. There aren’t any kids or cats but I’m not aggressive so it may be OK. I love my new soft dog beds and when my foster picks me up and puts me on her bed, I’m in heaven being able to be next to my people and getting to snuggle up close. My foster says I walk fine on a leash without any pulling but I do like to follow my nose so I may weave around on our walks. I’m learning all kinds of things in my foster home, how to sit on command and when she sits down to eat, how to put my head on my foster’s knee and stare into her eyes until she hands me a treat! I love treats – especially sweet things and I’m very gentle when I’m given a treat. My foster thinks I’m having my first experience with living in a house, so I’m learning how to communicate my need to go potty outside. My new family will need to be willing to continue my house training but I’m already making great strides picking up house manners. Are you looking for a smart, loving dog that comes with a happy personality, here I am!

If you are interested in me, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com to get more information on how to fill out an application and have a great meet and greet to see if we are a match made in heaven.
