This handsome fellow is Brady. He is a 2 to 3 year old Chihuahua mix, 14 lbs. He was rescued from a high volume shelter and is just the best boy! He is such a great companion dog – he just loves hanging out with his person. He will accompany you as you go in/out of the back yard and throughout the house. He loves to read, snuggle, help you on the computer, watch TV, give kisses, weed the garden and go for long moonlit walks on the beach (oh wait, maybe a little too romantic) – thus the photo of him camped out on the cat tree while I write his biography. He is very nice around other dogs and is currently hanging out with five dogs his size at his foster home; he would also be happy as an only dog so long as he gets properly spoiled. He is not crazy about his cell-mate from the shelter (we don’t know why – they just growl at each other) but is completely happy with all his other house buddies. We will just make sure that he and any potential house mates like one another during the home visit. He lays on top of them and lets them do the same (everyone wants on mom’s lap) when we are all napping or watching TV. He is good around cats/kittens as well – he’s captivated by them and thus tends to obsess over them when they are in the room. If they run he’ll give chase but then cowers/screeches if they swat him and he will stop if you scold him. He won’t hurt them but he might drive you crazy since he is so intrigued by them. Brady is house trained (loves his doggie door) and crate trained but would LOVE to find a family who would let him sleep with them at night. He is also nice and quiet; not a big barker. Brady will start heart worm treatment soon, so his family will need to be able to get him to appointments and through treatment, and keep him calm during and for a few weeks after. He’s quite mellow so this should not be hard. Is Brady just the fellow you have been looking for? We think so!
